Earth Day! · Apr 21, 09:31 PM

Celebrate Earth Day by reading something a little different.

We at Root for the Truth like to study different perspectives of an issue before unswervingly taking one or more or no side of an issue.

The Pacific Legal Foundation has come up with a list of Top Five Earth Day Lies that will drive some of you wild.

I’ve had some almost-personal experience with Pacific Legal Foundation. They were very helpful with an issue where the Big Guys with big money were stomping on the local little guys (of which I am one).

Read the complete article to find out why they consider the following to be lies:

The endangered species act helps endangered species
Truth: The ESA puts species in danger and undermines constitutional property rights.

Salmon fishing must be halted along the west coast to protect “endangered” chinook salmon
Truth: Halting fishing would be an economically devastating “solution” in search of a non-existent “problem.” Salmon are not “endangered.”

The feds must micromanage private property to protect clean water
Truth: State governments adequately protect clean water; federal intrusion is unconstitutional.

Drilling in ANWR would harm a fragile environment
Truth: Past energy development in Alaska belies doomsday warnings.

The best forest stewardship is to let forests burn
Truth: Removing dead wood prevents out-of-control fires, and spares species from incineration.
